Many people around Club Broadbeach will already know Aron, but he’s recently stepped into a new role as our Executive Manager of Bowls.
Having been a Broadbeach Bull since 2022, Aron has worked in a variety of roles across the club and is now looking forward to taking our bowls program to even greater heights while continuing to create memorable experiences for our members and visitors.
From winning four Australian Open singles titles in a row at Broadbeach to being a massive WWE fan, read on to discover more about Aron in this month’s Staff Spotlight.

What’s your role at the club?
Executive Manager of Bowls.
How long have you been part of the Club Broadbeach team?
I have worked for Broadbeach in a variety of positions since 2022.
What are you most looking forward to in your role?
Being able to make Broadbeach and even bigger powerhouse in the sport of bowls than it already is but most importantly providing a memorable experience for our members and visitors.
What’s your favourite part of working here?
The friendliness around the club is infectious. It’s a great place to walk into.
In three words, how would you describe Club Broadbeach?
Fresh, fun and exciting.

How did you first get into bowls?
Watching my father as a 10 year old at Halekulani bowling club in NSW.
What do you love most about the sport?
The diversity of people that can play the sport and the characters you meet along the way.
What’s your favourite bowls memory or career highlight?
Winning 4 AO singles in a row at Broadbeach and also competing in front of my kids at the 2018 Commonwealth Games at Broadbeach.
Who has had the biggest influence on your bowls career?
My original coach George Dawes.
What’s one piece of advice you’d give to someone new to bowls?
The ‘KISS’ method- Keep It Simple Stupid.
What makes Club Broadbeach a great place to play bowls?
We have the best greens in the world right next to the beach!
Food & Favourites
If you could only eat one meal from the club menu forever, what would it be?
Entree- Baja fish tacos.
Main- Hoisin Pork belly noodle salad.
Sweet or savoury — which one wins every time?
Savoury.
Go to coffee order?
Strong flat white.
Movie Buff
Favourite movie of all time?
Anything with Jason Statham in it!
What’s your favourite music to listen to on shift?
I’m into all music but at work you can’t go past a good sports podcast.
Off the Clock
Favourite way to spend a day off on the Gold Coast?
With family or having a round of golf with mates.
Hinterland or beach?
Hinterland.
What’s something people might be surprised to learn about you?
I write with my left hand and bowl with my right, and I’m a massive WWE fan!
